Deck Replacement - Summer 2005
|
dMk Builders -
The original deck was to small and frost was
heaving the end because of the foundation it was built on. dMk Builders designed
and constructed this new deck from the ground up. The big challenge was to
install the concrete bases with enough crushed stone around them so the water
didn't pool up under ground and heave this deck. The lower end is only 25 feet
from the lakes edge so we couldn't dig down 4 feet below the frost line. once
the concrete was in place we constructed a deck large enough to accommodate the
many guest that would frequent this property yet we needed to allow room for
access to the septic tank clean out located near the front cantilever. This new
spacious deck was finished off with cedar flooring, turned cedar balusters,
turned cedar newels, and cedar hand rails. The deck fit the area, it is the
right size for the guest, and is structurally sound. Our customer couldn't wait
to show his new deck to friends and family. dMk Builders was quite pleased with
this project and the challenges it brought.
